Dr Anmar Al-Witri

Overview

Dr Anmar Saad Al-Witri is a specialist neurosurgeon with a broad clinical background and extensive training across leading Australian hospitals.

Dr Al-Witri graduated in medicine from the University of Baghdad in 2004 and began his medical career in the Middle East, where he gained early experience in neurosurgery at King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan. After moving to Australia, he continued his medical and surgical career at Rockhampton Base Hospital, where his experience further strengthened his interest in neurosurgery and led him to pursue specialist training in the field.

He subsequently worked in neurosurgery at John Hunter Hospital and across the Westmead Hospital network, including the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, before entering the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons advanced neurosurgical training program. His specialist training took him through Westmead Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Nepean Public Hospital, providing broad experience across adult neurosurgery.

Today, his practice focuses on providing thoughtful and individualised care for patients with spinal and cranial neurosurgical conditions, with particular interests in degenerative spinal disease, brain tumours and hydrocephalus. He values taking the time to explain diagnoses clearly, discuss both surgical and non-surgical options, and help patients make informed decisions about their treatment.
