Dr David Kingston
Overview
Dr David Kingston is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon. His practice covers all conditions affecting the hand and wrist, bone and soft tissue, knee replacement surgery, hip replacement surgery and foot and ankle surgery.
He completed science and medical degrees at the University of Queensland. He went on to work in hospitals throughout metropolitan, regional, and rural Queensland as a junior doctor before completing extensive training in hand surgery and orthopaedic surgery in Queensland and NSW. Dr Kingston has also completed further training internationally.
Dr Kingston is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He is a member of the Queensland Hand Surgery Society, the Australian Hand Surgery Society, the Australian Orthopaedic Trauma Society, and a faculty member of the AO Trauma Foundation. He has academic appointments with the University of Queensland and James Cook University where he enjoys teaching medical students and contributing to research.
David is also interested in helping musicians with their orthopaedic problems, with his understanding of their unique demands stemming from his experience playing and teaching music.
David’s practice prioritises evidence-based medicine and education to ensure all patients are well-informed and involved in the decisions involving their treatment plan. He has practice locations in Brisbane, Townsville, and Mount Isa. Patients who require surgery can be treated at hospitals in Townsville and Brisbane.
