Dr Edward 'Ed' Gibson

Overview

Dr Edward Gibson is a board-certified specialist with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons specialising in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Growing up in country Victoria before moving to Adelaide to complete his tertiary education, Dr Gibson completed his plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgical training in Adelaide, South Australia.

To complement his interest in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, in 2023, Dr Gibson completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery, with the internationally respected Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery. More recently, and to further expand his expertise and skillset, in 2024, Dr Gibson completed a further fellowship in craniofacial surgery, with the world renowned Cleft and Craniofacial SA unit, at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, which has been instrumental in enhancing Dr Gibson’s surgical skills and enabling him to pursue his particular passion and interest in craniomaxillofacial surgery.


Dr Gibson is a member of the Australian and American Societies of Plastic Surgery and is dedicated to assisting the training of the next generation of plastic surgeons as well as the broader medical specialty. Dr Gibson is also deeply committed and has a strong interest in  contributing to research, providing surgical care in developing nations and improving environmental sustainability.   


Dr Gibson is a down to earth, caring, affable and skilled surgeon, who is considered and meticulous in his approach to surgery to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients. He uses the latest evidence and most up to date technologies and treatments to provide the best, individualised and tailored care for his patients. He has a particular interest in facial aesthetics; such as blepharoplasty, browpexy, face lift, rhinoplasty and lip lift; body contouring procedures after weight loss such as abdominoplasty and arm reduction; all elements of breast surgery including reconstruction, augmentation, mastopexy and reduction; migraine surgery, melanoma and skin cancer management, hand surgery, trauma care and craniomaxillofacial surgery.

Dr Gibson currently consults out of Plastic Surgery Central and operates out of several major hospitals around Adelaide.
