Dr Philip Michael

Overview

Dr Philip Michael is an ENT specialist with a particular interest in rhinology and facial plastic surgery. His practice includes the management of nasal and sinus conditions together with cosmetic, functional, revision and reconstructive rhinoplasty.

Following specialist training in otolaryngology, Dr Michael undertook further training in rhinology and rhinoplasty in Australia and Europe. This included a rhinology fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne and travelling fellowships in Germany and Switzerland, where his training included functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery.

He has subsequently held public hospital appointments in Melbourne and continues to have a particular clinical interest in disorders affecting the nose and sinuses.

His rhinoplasty practice encompasses cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty as well as revision and reconstructive procedures. Assessment considers the relationship between nasal appearance, the septum, nasal airway, nasal valves and structural support. His rhinology practice includes the assessment and management of nasal obstruction, sinus disease and other disorders of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

Dr Michael also has an interest in clinical research and surgical education. He holds a Masters degree in Education and has been involved in medical education, clinical research, presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
