Dr Kade Collins

Overview

Kade Collins is a Melbourne and internationally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, providing comprehensive care for hip and knee conditions, and upper and lower limb injuries in both children and adults.

Kade completed his medical degree at Monash University. After completing his Victorian & Tasmanian Orthopaedic specialist training, Kade worked for 18 months as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Peninsula Health & Eastern Health providing elective and emergency/trauma services.

He undertook additional sub-specialist training internationally to further his expertise in hip and knee surgery with Edinburgh Orthopaedics and The London Hip Practice (Professor Field - UK's most experienced anterior hip replacement surgeon and global leader in hip arthroscopy) in the United Kingdom. This included complex primary and revision hip & knee replacement, robotic-assisted surgery, joint preservation surgery including osteotomies and arthroscopy, and anterior and posterior minimally invasive hip surgery. He is trained in and utilises the direct anterior approach for hip replacement, including 'bikini'/transverse groin incision where appropriate/necessary, and the posterior approach, both of which help achieve optimal outcomes.

His public hospital appointment is at Peninsula Health, and he consults privately at multiple hospitals throughout SE Melbourne.

Kade prides himself on excellent communication to provide high-quality patient focused care both non-operatively and operatively. Utilising the latest techniques and technology he aims to return you to your best as soon as possible with optimised recovery via a multi-disciplinary and multi-modal approach.

Kade has particular interest and focus on:

  • Hip Replacement - Anterior and posterior approach, robotic assisted, primary (first time) and revisions, hip resurfacing

  • Knee Replacement - Total and partial/unicompartmental replacements, robotic assisted, primary and revisions
