Dr Kieran Hirpara
Overview
Dr Kieran Hirpara is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in hand and upper limb surgery. He completed his medical training and orthopaedic Fellowship in Australia, followed by post-Fellowship training focused on the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, before establishing his practice in Central Queensland.
His operative scope spans the full breadth of the upper limb — shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty (including reverse shoulder replacement and the Latarjet procedure), rotator cuff and instability surgery, elbow procedures including tennis elbow and cubital tunnel release, wrist arthroscopy, fracture fixation, ligament reconstruction, carpal tunnel and other nerve-compression release, tendon and nerve repair, Dupuytren's surgery, and reconstruction for arthritis of the hand and wrist.
He has published in the peer-reviewed orthopaedic literature on shoulder stabilisation and other upper limb topics, and contributes to the regional surgical training environment.
CQ Hand + Upper Limb operates from Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Rockhampton and accepts referrals from across Central Queensland, the Capricorn Coast, the Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday region, the Wide Bay, the Central Highlands and the Central West. In-person consultation is preferred; telehealth review can be arranged for patients where travel is a genuine barrier and the clinical situation allows.
