Mr Mark Schembri

Overview

Mark Schembri completed specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in Adelaide in 2003.  Along with expertise in the management of adults and children with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head & neck, Dr Schembri has particular subspecialty expertise in:

• Paediatric ENT
• Rhinology and Sinus Surgery
• Functional and Cosmetic Rhinoplasty
• Snoring and Sleep Apnoea
  

Dr Schembri undertook subspecialty training in the United Kingdom in paediatric ENT, with a special focus on disorders of the paediatric airway and airway reconstruction, as well as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a particular interest in functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty.  In addition, he has subspecialty training from both the USA and Australia in airway reconstruction surgery for snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.  This additional training has led to a comprehensive understanding of airway physiology, pathology and the role of surgical and medical treatments in airway management. 

Mark is approachable and attentive to patient’s concerns, has a friendly and kind manner with children, and understands the impact of their diagnosis and treatment on parents and family members.  When required, he actively involves a multidisciplinary approach to ensure delivery of comprehensive patient care.  Dr Schembri has a commitment to surgical education as a supervisor of surgical training, and has a number of research interests including paediatric sleep disordered breathing, rhinology and mucosal immunology.
