Mr Michael Wu

Overview

Dr Michael Wu is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, with a subspecialty interest in dialysis access surgery and renal transplantation. 

Michael completed his medical training at Flinders University in 2002.  He then worked in major teaching hospitals at Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong and Cambridge, UK to undergo extensive training in traditional and minimally invasive techniques in the management of arterial and venous disease.  As part of his training, Michael also undertook research in diabetic arterial disease that was partly funded by scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Michael received his Fellowship in Vascular Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014.

Michael is dedicated to providing the time and care for his patients to fully understand their condition and the required treatment.  Minimally invasive techniques are utilised when appropriate to optimise recovery times and long term outcomes.  Michael understands the importance of keeping referring doctors informed of their patient’s care and will provide timely communication of any treatment plans.

Michael has public appointments at Footscray Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Clayton and Dandenong Hospital.  He operates and consults at the Valley Private, Epworth Eastern and Western Private Hospitals, with other consulting locations at Wellness on Wellington (Rowville), Bacchus Marsh and Mount Waverley.

Michael is fluent in English and Cantonese.
