Associate Professor Philip Gan

Overview

Philip Gan is a General Surgeon in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia.   He gained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1991, and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2001. 

His areas of interest include advanced laparoscopic surgery, in which he incorporates a variety of techniques including reduced port, single port, mini-laparoscopy, percutaneous and hybrid trans-vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) across a broad range of surgical procedures.  These include bariatrics, fundoplication, splenectomy, cholecystectomy, colorectal and hernia surgery.   

Philip is also a medical device innovator and inventor, holding multiple device Patents.  He has published and presented internationally through the United States, Europe and Asia on MIS techniques and medical devices.
