Dr Roneil Parikh

Overview

Dr Roneil Parikh is a specialist Breast, Endocrine and General Surgeon practising in Sydney, with appointments at Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Strathfield Private Hospital.

After completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the prestigious King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India, Dr Parikh moved to Sydney in 2013 to pursue research and specialist surgical training. He completed his specialist General Surgical training through the Liverpool and St George Hospital networks in New South Wales and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He subsequently undertook dedicated subspecialty fellowship training at Prince of Wales Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital, developing extensive experience in the management of breast cancer and benign breast disease, oncoplastic breast surgery, and thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal conditions.

He then travelled to the United Kingdom to undertake a Senior Clinical Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals. Working in a high-volume tertiary endocrine unit, he gained further experience in complex and re-operative thyroid and parathyroid surgery and developed particular expertise in adrenal surgery and minimally invasive approaches. His advanced endocrine training culminated in Fellowship of the European Board of Surgery in Neck Endocrine and Adrenal Surgery (FEBS).

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Parikh is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and is actively involved in surgical education and research. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at national and international surgical meetings.

Dr Parikh believes that good surgical care extends beyond performing an operation. He places particular importance on taking the time to explain a diagnosis, discussing the available treatment options clearly, and involving patients and their families in decisions about their care. His approach combines evidence-based treatment, meticulous surgery and multidisciplinary collaboration, while recognising that every patient and their circumstances are different.
