Dr Samuel 'Sam' Davies
Overview
Dr Samuel Davies is a Brisbane-based urologist with expertise in robotic surgery, uro-
oncology, stone treatment and advanced treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH),
including Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) and Aqua Ablation.
He consults and operates at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Springfield, where he
provides personalised care for patients with prostate, bladder, and kidney conditions. His
approach combines cutting-edge technology with compassionate, patient-centred care.
Dr Davies completed his medical training at the University of Wollongong, followed by
postgraduate qualifications in surgical anatomy and a Master of Surgery. He was awarded
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Urology in 2024 after
training in leading centres across Queensland and New South Wales.
To further refine his skills, Dr Davies undertook a prestigious fellowship at Guy’s and St
Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, gaining sub-specialty experience alongside
world-leading experts in robotic and open uro-oncology surgery and advanced BPH
techniques.
He is one of only a few Queensland urologists fellowship-trained in HoLEP and is the only
urologist in the state trained in Aqua Ablation, offering patients access to the latest minimally
invasive treatments for enlarged prostate.
Committed to surgical leadership, education, and research, Dr Davies completed an
Executive Fellowship in Surgical Leadership at King’s Health Partners and has published
extensively on robotic surgery and urologic oncology.
He holds academic appointments in Brisbane and Wollongong and has extensive
experience across multiple robotic platforms, including Da Vinci, Medtronic Hugo RAS, and
Toumai Microport systems.
