Dr Vikram Padhye
Overview
Dr Vikram Padhye is an Adelaide based Ear, Nose, Throat and Head & Neck Surgeon. Born and raised in South Australia, he completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2008. During his surgical training, he rotated through all major SA public hospitals including the Royal Adelaide, Flinders Medical Centre, Queen Elizabeth, Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospital, as well as completing 12 months of paediatric ENT surgery at the Women's & Childrens Hospital. With a keen interest in high level research, Dr Padhye has completed a PhD in sinus surgery under the supervision of renown surgeon Prof PJ Wormald. His work has been recongised with a commendation for thesis excellence by the University of Adelaide, as well as the RP Jepson Medal awarded by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has authored multiple journal articles and presented his research both in Australia and internationally.
Dr Padhye is one of few surgeons who is dual international fellowship trained. In 2019 he spent 12 months training in advanced sinus, anterior skull base and head & neck surgery at The University of Toronto, Canada with leading surgeon Professor Ian Witterick. Furthermore in 2022 he travelled to California, USA to undertake the prestigious sleep apnea surgery fellowship at Stanford University under pioneering surgeon Professor Robson Capasso. He is the only Australian to have been awarded this fellowship and to be internationally fellowship trained in sleep apnea surgery.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and manages the full scope of paediatric and adult ENT disorders, with a special interest in sleep and sinus surgery. He consults and operates at The Royal Adelaide and Modbury Public Hospitals and consults privately at ENTSA and operates at The Memorial Hospital and Calvary North Adelaide.
*Dr Padhye is currently still working at Stanford Medicine, California and is due to return to practice in Adelaide in July 2024
