Dr William Shi

 

From 2020-2022, William undertook Advanced Clinical Fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA, gaining experience performing mitral valve, aortic valve and aortic root surgery. while also cross-training in transcatheter interventional procedures for valvular heart disease.

 

William joined the Northwell Health System in New York, USA in 2022 and focuses on conventional, minimally-invasive and transcatheter surgery for valve disease as well as the liberal usage of arterial conduits for coronary artery surgery. William also serves as a site investigator for several multicenter clinical trials in cardiac surgery being conducted at the national and international level.

William is a recipient of the 2020 Society of Thoracic Surgeons Michael J. Davidson Structural Heart Fellowship Award, a Foundation for Surgery Research Scholarship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. a Postgraduate Research Scholarship from the National Heart Foundation of Australia, a Research Scholarship from the Australia and New Zealand Society for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons, as well multiple scholarships from the University of Melbourne. He has published over 50 original manuscripts and book chapters and presented at scientific meetings in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
