For Specialist International Medical Graduates who intend to work in Aotearoa New Zealand for a fixed period of time, for a specific purpose.

The Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)’s special purpose areas of practice are for: ((JPeterson comment – I think we need to be more specific than just listing those 6, although all are correct. Only Locum tenens or maybe postgraduate training categories would be relevant to an SIMG wanted to work in Aotearoa NZ. And both are time limited, practice is under supervision and do not lead to vocational registration
