• MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Possession of qualifications and experience appropriate for registration as a Specialist in Otolaryngology in Australia.
• Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $514,421 p.a. is comprised of:
• A salary between $204,206 - $258,910 p.a.
• 12.75% super
• 17.5% leave loading
• Professional Development Leave - 3.6 weeks
• Professional Development Allowance - $21,500 p.a.
• Motor Vehicle Allowance
• Over-time and on-call allowances
• Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (Granted Private Practice arrangements)

Are you an experienced specialist medical practitioner looking to make a difference to the lives of injured Queensland workers?
Apply to join the General Medical Assessment Tribunal – independent panels of medical specialists who decide complex medical questions in Queensland’s workers’ compensation scheme.
Tribunals are an integral part of the scheme, providing an independent medical assessment of injury or impairment for workers’ compensation claims.
Current members of the tribunals describe the role as both intellectually stimulating and an opportunity for professional development through the interaction with senior practitioners in their field.
We are seeking expressions of interest from specialists across a variety of fields, including:
• gastroenterology
• general surgery
• obstetrics and gynaecology
• infectious diseases
• internal medicine
• maxillofacial surgery
• occupational medicine
• paediatric medicine
• rehabilitation medicine
• rheumatology
• thoracic medicine
• urology
• vascular surgery
As a tribunal member you can expect:
• remuneration for tribunal attendances
• intellectually stimulating work
• the opportunity to learn, interact and network with senior practitioners
• paid training in assessment methodology
• modest time commitment for busy clinicians.
Dependent on your speciality, tribunals require only a small time commitment. A typical tribunal session includes one hour of pre-reading time and three hours attendance (in person or virtually) at the tribunal appointment including preparing decision.
Appointments are for a 3-year term. Applications from women, regional and interstate specialists are encouraged and virtual attendances are available if required.
