Developing a Career and skills in Academic Surgery (DCAS) Course 2021
In collaboration with the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Section of Academic Surgery (SAS), we invite you to attend this one-day course to be held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne, Victoria on Monday 10 May 2021.
The course is intended for surgical trainees, research fellows, early career academics, and surgeons who have considered involvement with the publication or presentation of academic work. This fully interactive course with a high faculty/participant ratio will help trainees acquire the skills required to satisfy the RACS research requirements and boost the academic content of their CV. The course covers topics ranging from identifying academic mentors to effective communication of novel research to achieving academic, clinical, and personal balance. Furthermore this year will include talks on navigating the virtual academic environment and a discussion on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Academic Surgery.
