About you 
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values: 
- Provide executive leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality, efficient and value-based surgical services. 
- Provide Executive leadership of SPS and support senior clinical and administrative staff to collaboratively achieve the clinical, operational, and financial objectives of the Service Line. 
- Oversee operational and financial performance including achievement of KPIs, patient outcomes, and service growth.

Gladstone Hospital, a 100-bed regional facility, offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency, general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, and paediatrics. 

We're looking for a General Surgeon to assist the Director of Surgery in delivering high-quality, cost-effective surgical services. The role involves managing acute and elective surgical conditions in both adults and children. 

 

About You 
You'll need an MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia, including Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery. Accreditation by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) in upper and lower GI endoscopy and expertise in Laparoscopic Surgery are essential. Expertise in breast surgery and oncoplastic reconstruction is highly desirable. 

 

What We Offer 
A total remuneration package of up to $280,001 p.a. is on offer, including a salary rate between $195,018 - $231,098 p.a., 12.75% employer superannuation, and 17.5% leave loading, plus other enticing benefits.
