The Academy of Surgical Educators hosts a number of Educator Studio Sessions around Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand each year. Each session is a one-hour informative event, curated to help to provide a deeper understanding of the issues, themes and topics that matter. We are leading the way in surgical education.

CPD Hours: This educational activity has been approved in the College's CPD program. Participants with a RACS Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement can claim one hour of CPD under the Education category, which will be uploaded by RACS on your behalf.

In this session, Associate Professor Kerin Fielding draws on her keynote presentation at the Royal College of Surgeons of England’s Future of Surgery Festival (April 2026) to explore the future direction of surgical care. She will discuss emerging technologies, workforce evolution and the integration of innovation into clinical practice, alongside the broader implications for patient outcomes and healthcare systems.
