MCNZ consults on statements on Cultural Safety and Cultural Competence, and Hauora Māori

RACS welcomed the opportunity to contribute to development of draft Statements on Cultural Competence and Cultural Safety, and on Hauora Māori. These will set current expectations for how doctors provide culturally competent and culturally safe care, and to support equitable health outcomes. The chairs of the Māori Health Advisory Group and AoNZ National Committee submitted the draft statements were reasonable, proportionate, and easy to read. We welcomed the inclusion of useful glossaries and suggested providing links to relevant associated documents.
