RACS recognises the inequity in health outcomes for rural, regional and remote people and is committed to undertaking work to implement its Rural Health Equity Strategic Action Plan. The Plan outlines RACS’ social responsibility to work towards rural health equity by increasing the rural surgical workforce, reducing workforce maldistribution and building sustainable surgical services. This work underpins RACS’ response to the inquiry.
