Who can apply?
To be eligible for this grant, you need to:
- be a RACS Fellow, Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) or SET Trainee*
- permanently reside in South Australia, and/or, for the purpose of postgraduate study or training, reside temporarily outside the state of South Australia.*SET applicants are ineligible.

Activity
The scholarship supports the recipient to undertake postgraduate study or advance their surgical skills while temporarily residing outside the state of South Australia (either in Australia or overseas). The activity must be for a minimum duration of six months.
The activity for which funding is being sought must commence after the grant application closing date but prior to the end of the grant year (December 31st). All grant recipients will be required to provide an activity report at the end of the grant year outlining their progress against their proposal timeline.

Selection and awarding
Selection is via assessment of the written application.
The selection panel is comprised of members of the South Australian Regional Committee.
Should two applications be of equal merit, preference will be given to applicants wishing to travel overseas for their activity.Awarding:
- payment is made directly to the recipient by 1 March in the scholarship year (following receipt of a valid invoice)
- accommodation and travel costs will be paid by reimbursement. Receipts are to be provided as requested at the conclusion of the scholarship period.
