Younger Fellows Forum 2026

Are you or someone you know in the first 10 years of Fellowship? If so, apply now for the 2026 Younger Fellows Forum (YFF)

The 2026 Younger Fellows Forum (YFF) will take place on Monday 27 April – Wednesday 29 April in Perth, Australia. The Forum will be held at Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley. The theme is The Art of Science and Collaboration.

The YFF brings together surgeons who are motivated in surgical leadership. Delegates are keen to engage in college discourse and RACS activities that set and uphold the standards for surgery in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

About YFF:
The YFF aims to develop leadership and performance skills for new consultants to thrive within the surgical workforce and become leaders within their communities. The 3-day Forum allows new Fellows of the College to share ideas and experiences while discussing current issues affecting surgical practice. It will be an opportunity to explore the structure and workings of the College. The Forum will also provide an opportunity to contribute to College discourse and priorities by developing a set of recommendations to be presented to Council.

How to apply:

Complete the online application form. Handy tip - make sure you have your resume ready.

Applications close in November, so get in quick.

We look forward to receiving your application.

Previous YFF Forums

The 2025 Younger Fellows Forum (YFF) took take place from 30 April–2 May 2025 in Sydney, Australia. The theme was Innovation, Precision, Excellence.

The 2025 YFF will be 43 years since the first Forum in 1982. The concept introduced in 1980 by Prof Richard Bennett, was to acknowledge and encourage the contribution of Younger Fellows to the College. This event selects twenty emerging leaders who are RACS Fellows within their first ten years of Fellowship, from all disciplines of surgery.

The YFF aims to develop leadership and performance skills for new consultants to thrive within surgical workforce and become leaders within their communities. The 2025 YFF will focus on innovations for surgery and improving personal performance to achieve excellence. We have partnered with leaders within the industry to discuss our future moving forward.

The 3-day forum allowed new Fellows of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to share ideas and experiences while discussing and debating current issues affecting surgical practice. It will be a space to explore the structure and workings of the College. The workshops will also provide an opportunity to contribute to College discourse and priorities. The venue will be at a retreat place, not far from Sydney International Conference Centre to allow the delegates to get away and to focus on this event.
