Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA) and the Australian Medical Association (AMA) are pleased to invite you to our fifth annual joint webinar "Climate change and sustainability: leadership and action from Australian doctors."

The webinar features keynotes from leading professionals in the climate and health arena, including DEA's board chair Professor Nicholas Talley, AMA Vice President Julien Rait and Professor Carolyn Hullick from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.

Attendees will also hear from Dr Kimberly Humphrey, DEA Board member and WHO ATACH Steering Group Representative – on behalf of Health Professional Associations, speaking to the international health response and providing an insight into COP.

Dr Grant Silbert, Co Convenor of DEA's Medical Education Group will provide an update on how they are advancing embedding climate and sustainability into medical training at all levels with one of their key focuses being shaping the future of accreditation.

Our keynote and guest speakers will be joined by representatives from some of Australia's speciality medical colleges:

- Royal Australasian College of Surgeons: Dr Ben Dunne
- Australian College of Emergency Medicine: Dr Stephen Gourley
- The Australasian College of Dermatologists: Dr Austen Anderson
- Council of Presidents Medical Colleges: Jodie Long
- Royal College of General Practitioners: Dr Michael Wright
- The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists: Dr Lauren Kite
- Public Health Association of Australia: A/ Professor Terry Slevin
- Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists: Dr Archana “Archie” Shrivathsa
- The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists: Angelo Virgona

 

Each presentation will outline their past and future activities in relation to climate change and sustainability. They will highlight the advocacy, training and practical initiatives that encourage and promote continual collaboration and leadership from Australia’s medical profession.
