The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) 2025 marks the 93rd RACS ASC and is set to be a prestigious gathering, bringing together leading experts, practitioners, and innovators in the health services network.

The ASC is dedicated to advancing healthcare with breakthrough research and showcasing innovative technologies to transform patient care. On behalf of the organising committee, we are thrilled to unveil new highlights and exciting features with you.

First on the agenda, recognising the time constraints on clinical commitment and taking your feedback into account, the ASC 2025 will commence from Saturday 3 to Monday 5 May, with global health and transplantation surgery program to occur on Tuesday 6 May at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Sydney.

With opening plenary session to kick start on Saturday, there is an impressive line up of our own very best speakers to present well-formed ideas, without agenda, politics, religion or otherwise, no inflammatory rhetoric, and no bad science. The presenters will follow TEDx guidelines to deliver thrilling and thought-provoking content promised to stimulate discussion.

The convocation ceremony that recognises our new Fellows and award recipients is scheduled for Saturday evening, followed by a cocktail reception where families and guests are invited to join us in celebrating their remarkable achievements and the beginning of an exciting chapter for the new Fellows. The evening’s celebrations will continue with the Congress Dinner following the reception—an opportunity to keep the festive spirit alive and enjoy more great food, conversation, and friendship!

As more program contents are confirmed, we will share the details through RACS social media channels and regular newsletter updates. With your attendance and a reimagined format, the ASC 2025 will help reignite the sense of collegiality and fellowship. Building on the solid foundation from previous events, it will be an even greater success, providing a unique forum for all to forge connections, exchange insights, and work together for a better and fairer future for medicine and surgery.
