Usage

The use of MALT by Maintenance of Professional Standards subscribers (MoPS) is optional.

MALT is available for MoPS to record and store data as a personal log of procedures or an audit tool for self audit or peer review.

Logbooks

The Morbidity Audits Support Team team checks for new subscribers and allocates logbooks on a monthly basis.

If you would like to start using MALT straight away, please contact us and this can be arranged for you.

Once your subscription ends, you will not be able to access MALT. However, your cases will remain in MALT and if you resubscribe or commence another RACS program such as a Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) or become a Fellow, your MALT access will be reinstated and your data will be available.

Procedures

MALT allows multiple procedures to be recorded in a case. If you cannot find the procedure you want to enter, click on the 'can't find my procedure' option on the data entry screen and send the name of the procedure to MALT staff.

Supervision level (role in theatre)

This field documents the role in theatre for each surgical procedure performed. The supervision level field is completed on the Procedure Details: Minimum Dataset tab on the MALT Case Entry screen.

The following values are available to select from in the drop down list:
