This research looked at breast cancers that were found in patients 70 years or older, comparing those found through symptoms to those found through screening programs.
The study confirmed that tumours found through symptoms were more likely to have:
- Higher grade
- Vascular invasion (cancer spread to blood)
- A more aggressive tumour type
