What's new on the Supervisor Hub

The RACS Professional Skills Curriculum is now available.  

The Professional Skills Curriculum complements the RACS Surgical Competence and Performance Guide, and can be used by Supervisors in conjunction with the Supervisor Framework, for teaching and assessing Trainees and SIMGs in the workplace.  

CPD update - CPD Points for Supervision and Training

All Fellows in any form of practice, both operative and non-operative, are required to comply with the requirements of the RACS CPD Program or an equivalent program approved by the Professional Standards and Advocacy Committee.

RACS CPD program is aligned with the registration standards set by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) and Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Supervisors will automatically receive 15 CPD points annually under the category of Performance Review of Others.

Supervisors can apply for additional CPD points under the category of Education Activities for teaching trainees/ undergraduates (capped at 20 CPD points).

Supervisors can apply for additional CPD points for Education Activities related to developing their own skills as educators and trainers by completing courses listed in RACS Professional Development for Supervisors.

Note: Supervisors undertaking a Post Graduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters of Surgical Education may be eligible for additional CPD points related to Educational Activities and can contact CPD.College@surgeons or phone +61 3 9249 1282 for information on documenting CPD points for these programs.
