Prevocational & Skills Education Committee
Overview
PSEC has direct governance over skills training programs developed and managed by the Skills Training department. PSEC aims to maintain educational standards and relevance in the delivery of technical and non-technical skills.
Each Skills Training program is supported by its own committee, responsible for the management of faculty, participants, and ongoing curriculum development. Each program committee is a subcommittee of PSEC.
- ASSET: Australia and New Zealand Surgical Skills Education and Training Committee
- ATLS®: Advanced Trauma Life Support Committee
- CCrISP®: Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient Committee
- CLEAR: Critical Literature Evaluation and Research Committee
- TIPS: Training in Professional Skills Committee
Aligned to this, PSEC is the governing committee for the ongoing development of resources and information that supports the JDocs Framework, under the management of the Prevocational and Online Education department. The JDocs Framework outlines the skills and behaviours required to assist junior doctors in their development toward a career in surgery.
